My second novel is illustrated with original engravings. Some years ago I started collecting them. I found them at rummage sales, second hand book shops or in the internet. I love those fine pieces of art of yesteryear and want to share them with you.
My first blog post is about the picture that you see on my home page. It is also the illustration of the first chapter of “Lady on an Outing” (the English version is coming soon).
The picture is a copper engraving from 1796 made by William Angus (1752–1821). The Master engraver pictures Nourth Court House in the Isle of Wight, seat of Richard Bull, Esquire. The house is still there, today it is a Bed-and-Breakfast hotel. Someday, I plan on paying it a visit…
Mein zweites Buch habe ich mit original Stichen illustriert. Vor einigen Jahren habe ich damit angefangen, alte Stiche zu sammeln, die ich auf dem Flohmarkt, in Antiquariaten und im Internet gefunden habe. Es ist ein Stich aus dem Jahr 1796 von William Angus (1752–1821). Der Meister-Kupferstecher hat hier North Court House auf der Isle of Wight abgebildet, Sitz von Richard Bull, Esquire. Das Haus steht heute noch und ist ein Bed-and-Breakfast Hotel. Irgendwann fahre ich dorthin…
